Mougins is a so-called village perché (i.e. a high-altitude village) and during Roman times it was a stop on the Via Aurelia, which led from Rome to Arles.
The old town is approximately 260m above sea level. The historically oldest elements in the city are the church from the 11th century and the “Porte Sarrasine” from the 12th century. So as you see the village has a very long history.
The outermost houses in Mougins, including the Townhouse Mougins, also formed a kind of ramparts. Today we enjoy the view of the Bay of Antibes and the Grasse mountains from the roof terrace and even the snow-covered peaks of Isola2000 can be seen in the distance.
The Townhouse Mougins was completely renovated with great attention to detail and a lot of effort between 2017 and 2019 - always with the firm intention of maintaining the original charm. Therefore, historical building materials were preferred!
